A few words from Marshall…

It has been another great year being the family's photographer. Because this is my fourth year archiving the festival, most of you now know who I am. It was great to again see the folks I had met, and friends I have made in past years. It is even more of a pleasure to make new friends with people who have paged through the archive. Then there are the first time fest goers, they were sent by friends to the archive to get a glimpse of the magic that is Harvest Fest. I was touched by the story a father told me of how his family had made their mind up to attend Harvest because of what they saw in my photographs. I am just proud to record the energy of what is already there.

This year I had a blast photographing and there were many highlights. Wookie Foot was again, off the meter. It was hard to stop dancing long enough to take a picture. Most magical moment was the Mystic Melange and the Faery Pranksters. What a cool sound they created deep into the night air. A fitting backdrop to the Illumination Fire Troupe. This band of fire tamers have inspired me to create some new photographic projects. Make sure you click on the “Fire” link above, as I have created some really nice work with them as my muse.

Most of all it is the smiles of the people taking part in the gathering, the energy given back to the crowd from the musicians, and the magic from the nature all around. I want to give thanks to Wookie Foot for producing this gathering; I work in theatre as a Technical Director, and know what goes into setting something like this up. Thank you Mark, Megan, and Jo Jo! Another thanks to Jay for taking care of the park and letting us share the land for the weekend. A thank you to, Ken (aka The Wizard, aka The MC) for being wise and sharing your smile with us all. To all the workers and volunteers that watch all the gates, take the tickets, patch up a nasty cuts, give directions, suck out the porta-pottys, pick up trash, help people move their camp gear, show people where to park, set-up lighting and sound, paint the sets, tape the shows, split the wood, tend to fires, and keep the peace; Thank You! Most of all a big thank you to all the people that make this a reality, you!

Please give me feedback on what you think of the photos this year. I would love to hear from all of you. Until next year, I'll keep shooting.
